Our English Story Immersion Programme

A half-day intensive learning experience designed for children aged 4–6 who are beginning their journey with English or preparing to join a more formal school environment.

Here is an illustration of a typical 4-hour day in the programme

A day in the programme.jpg

Through the classic story Dear Zoo, children explore animals, movement, storytelling, and descriptive language through a rich variety of immersive activities designed especially for young learners.

As the story repeats key sentence patterns such as “I wrote to the zoo…” and “They sent me…”, children are naturally exposed to more advanced language structures like the past simple tense — long before formal grammar study would usually begin. Rather than memorising rules, children hear and use meaningful language repeatedly through stories, play, and interaction.

The learning continues beyond storytime through role play, movement games, sensory storytelling trays, phonics-based activities, matching tasks, crafts, and hands-on projects. Children open boxes, describe animals, write letters to the zoo, create animals with play dough, and gradually begin retelling parts of the story with increasing confidence and accuracy.

These carefully designed follow-up activities encourage repetition and meaningful language use in different contexts, helping children strengthen understanding, pronunciation, and sentence patterns in a natural and engaging way — areas often overlooked at this age.

Alongside English and early literacy development, activities also support confidence, imagination, fine motor skills, creativity, listening, social interaction, and participation within a group setting.

Our English Story Immersion Programme is a half-day intensive learning experience designed for children aged 4–6 who are beginning their journey with English or preparing to join a more formal school environment.

Offered in morning and afternoon sessions, the programme runs across four
distinctive weeks, using carefully selected storybooks such as the famous
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Dear Zoo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and many
others to introduce English in a natural, meaningful, and memorable way.

Through storytelling, movement, songs, phonics, role play, games, crafts, and
hands-on activities, children experience language actively. Daily phonics and
early literacy foundations are carefully integrated, helping children develop
listening skills, sound awareness, vocabulary, early decoding, and confidence
with language patterns in an age-appropriate and engaging way.

Stories are revisited and explored in different ways until children begin to
anticipate, understand, and gradually retell language with growing
confidence.

Each class welcomes a maximum of 12 children and is supported by a lead
teacher and teaching assistant, creating a calm, structured, and nurturing
environment where young learners feel safe to participate, express
themselves, and build social confidence.

Alongside English language and literacy development, the programme also
supports emotional development, cooperation, motor coordination, creativity,
cognition, and group belonging through purposeful routines, play, focused
tasks, and meaningful interaction.

By the end of the programme, children leave not only with greater exposure
to English, but with increased confidence, independence, and the feeling that
English is something they can genuinely enjoy and be part of.
