Why get TESOL certified in Penang?
 

Studying face-to-face at Penang English Academy gives you direct access to our students and teachers at our language centre.  You will be able to observe trained teacher in real classroom settings.  When you are ready, you will be able to co-teach and lead teach lessons yourself.  ​Penang also provides a convenient gateway to other Southeast Asia countries to explore and discover exciting teaching opportunities!

​Completing both certificates typically takes 12 - 14 weeks to complete. If you are not able to come to Penang, we do offer on-line training, or a hybrid mix option, but you will be limited to take the 120-hour certificate which does not include the teaching practicum if you are not based in Penang.

​

Another option for those not able to come to Penang for 3 months is to complete units 1 - 9 for the 120-hour course from anywhere in the world virtually, then come to beautiful Penang Malaysia to complete unit 10 and your teaching practicum.  This is a wonderful step into SE Asia and once you complete both certificates you will be ready to seek employment in the region.  While the course fees do not include costs to stay in Penang, Penang English Academy can help connect you with places to stay or host families if that is your preference.  You would need to plan to be here for 3 - 4 weeks to complete unit 10 and the 40-hour teaching practicum here in Penang.
